Home Sharing Terms & Conditions
We have noted that you will be sub-letting part or all of your home, which is advertised through a home sharing website.

It is a condition of this policy, that any such sub-letting arrangements have been made via one of the following companies who provide automatic insurance cover under their host protection or host guarantee policy cover: Air BnB, Wimdu or OneFineStay.
If you use an alternative home sharing website to advertise your home, it is a condition of this policy that you arrange an appropriate host insurance policy such as that offered by GuardHog.

Important conditions and limits concerning your home sharing arrangements:

The maximum number of guests staying in your home at any one time cannot be more than double the number of bedrooms available to sub let. If a claim occurs where this maximum number of guests has been exceeded, we may not pay your claim.

You must not allow paying guests to smoke in your home. If you allow paying guests to smoke in your home, and a loss occurs, we may not pay your claim.

You or your preferred home sharing agency must collect a refundable deposit for all bookings made, and from which any loss or damage to your property must be paid in the first instance.

Any claim for loss or damage to your property caused by paying guests, or injury, illness or damage caused to your paying guests and their property should be directed to your host protection or host guarantee insurance policy before we will consider your claim.

We will only consider your claim once we have received written confirmation that your host protection or host guarantee insurance policy does not provide cover for your loss.

The cover provided by this insurance is amended in the following manner:

A compulsory excess, plus any voluntary excess you have selected, will apply to any claim for theft, attempted theft, malicious damage, vandalism or accidental damage whilst the home is being sub let to paying guests.

If Contents Insurance is included:
We will not pay for any loss or theft of money from the home whilst the home is being sub let to paying guests, unless this is kept in a locked safe with the keys removed, and the most we will pay for any loss or theft of money from the home safe whilst the home is being sub let to paying guests is £2,500 during any one period of insurance.
The most we will pay for loss or damage to Antiques and Works of Art, Gold and Silver and Valuables caused by theft, attempted theft, malicious damage, vandalism or accidental damage whilst the home is being sub let to paying guests is £5,000 during any one period of insurance. This limit will not apply if these items are kept in a locked safe, a sealed or locked room within the home, or removed from the home to a professional storage facility.
